Ventilator Autoclave

Introduction:

With research and developmental efforts for newer products Machinfabrik aims to cater to diverse and increasing requirements of the pharmaceutical world. On such effort is the development of the ventilator autoclave designed specially for the flexible products that cannot be sterilized with steam since the pressure levels associated with steam can cause deformation of the flexible loads.

Typical products like triple flip off caps, blood bags, xylophone tubes etc. are few of the products successfully sterilized in a ventilator autoclave. Though the medium can be effectively sterilized with steam, a steam air mixture is use to cause pressure balancing within the chamber and hence prevent any deformation. In order to prevent any presence of cold spots (that can hamper the efficiency off the process) a steam air mixture recirculation system is in place. The recirculation system comprises of a centrally located impeller along with the heat exchangers placed in the cylindrical chamber.

Technique:

A ventilator is necessarily a cylindrical pressure vessel with heat exchangers along the side curvature supported by inverted u shaped chamber construction at the bottom of the ventilator.

A centrally places impeller along with the heat exchanger coils & the chamber baffle at the bottom comprise the recirculation system. This ensures high flow velocity of steam air mixture during the heating period and the desired temperature attainment and uniformity for sterilization purpose is thereby attained.

Recirculation of the steam air mixture also causes necessary pressure balancing thereby preventing any deformation of the flexible load.

Features:

1.Complaince with USFDA & EN 285 standards.

2.Post sterilization cooling water is circulated in the heat exchanger coil to cool down the load to room temperature before it can be unloaded

3.The heat exchangers are constructed as per the FINN tube design. This ensures maximum heat transfer and thereby temperature uniformity of the steam air mixture passing over it.

4.The impeller is provided with a mechanical seal to prevent any leakage

5.Safety valve are provided for the chamber and heat exchangers coils to prevent over pressure conditions.
